Dog of the month
Blu

When Blu first arrived at the shelter, the volunteers named him ‘Devil Dog’
Blu isn’t our first challenging dog and probably won’t be our last. He didn’t have much interaction with humans or other dogs, so his way of communicating was growling, barking, and he nipped two volunteers.
We couldn’t take his harness off or even go near him as he was quite aggressive.

We would often use a broom to remove his food bowl and would need to distract him to fill up his water bowl. But we never gave up hope on Blu.

After six months, we are delighted with his progress and Blu is a totally different dog. He loves his walks, and is excellent on the lead, sits for treats, he even gives us cuddles (when it suits him) licks our hand and follows us around when cleaning his pen.

In the last two weeks he has made even more progress, he has been groomed, brushed and we’ve been able to remove his harness.

Blu is a handsome boy, and with the right experienced owner, he would make a loyal companion. No children!
Please Note: only an experienced dog walker will get to meet Blu in the summer
Are we the pawfect match?
